Booster Club for Cats Football

First, The West Seattle Booster Club Fundraiser benefiting the football team would like to thank you for your support! Our football team are in the midst of Spring practice in preparation for the 2017 football season. As expected, the student athletes and the community are excited for the reveal of the 2017 Wildcats. Due to the excitement of the community and students, we have seen an increase in student athletes joining our program. Unfortunately, as a result of this increase, we have discovered a shortage of equipment to issue to our student athletes as well as administer practices on a daily basis. As many may know, the budget provided by the school district is absolute minimal and does not cover the cost to purchase such equipment.
As the new coaching staff enters its first season, one of their driving initiatives is to provide a positive and safe experience for all students. In order to provide such an experience, we are asking our community, their friends and families, to donate to our program. Please understand that all proceeds will directly benefit the student athletes and their experience in the Wildcats football program.
They currently have 10 student athletes who do not have an issued pair of properly fitting and acceptably conditioned shoulder pads (approximately $300 each). In addition to this shortage, they anticipate having at least an additional 20 student athletes (incoming freshmen and upperclassmen who are participating in other sports currently) joining the program during the summer months. In conjuction with the shortage of shoulder pads, they also need to provide practice uniforms, and all neccesary pads (girdles , thigh pads , knee pads , etc) for all student athletes.
Additionally, we are asking for support to purchase operational equipment. Specifically, they are in need of agility bags , hand shields , pop-up bags as we do not have any of these resources needed to instruct our student athletes. To ensure that our student athletes are properly prepared to play such a sport, these items are essential. Furthermore, they are also in need of a new coaches communication system as their current system is inoperable. This system allows the coaches to efficiently communicate about the health of the student athletes and strategically plan and adjust during competition.
Again, we would like to thank all supporters of the Wildcats football program. We understand that the list may be cumbersome, however, please understand that every cent donated will assist the coaches and staff in pouring love and education into our young people through the sport of football!
We look forward to seeing you on Friday nights in the Fall!
Go Wildcats!
