Wheelchair ATV Project
Donation protected
In 2010 I started to design a custom-built ATV to meet the needs of high-level disabilities. It will be something we can use completely independent of any assistance. The user will drive directly from their own wheelchair that parks into the ATV. After 2 years of design and redesign I came up with a 3-D model that we are using as the blueprint to build the machine.
The cost of the hydraulics and electronics engineering has escalated significantly making up approximately 70% of the cost. The money donated would be going to the design and engineering . When the machine is finished the blueprints and engineering work is going to be readily available free of charge to anyone who wants to build one for themselves, or have one built. We plan to take the prototype machine around to give people the opportunity to see it and drive it.
I've been quite fortunate to have most of the labour and materials donated to the project. Briggs & Stratton has also donated the engine. Now the engineering for the hydraulics and electronics costs are going to be the biggest expense. I'm not looking to profit off of this, I just want to change lives for people that are in the same place as me. Any help is much appreciated
