Window to the Wild, Inc.  is a non-profit organization whose mission is to support global conservation projects by bringing live, interactive displays of the wonders of wildlife to engage, inkspire, entertain, educate and exceed our audience's expectations.

Hello from Lindsey and Simon!

We here at Window to the Wild work with local bird rehabilitation centers to take in birds that cannot be released in to the wild due to injuries or human imprinting.  With your donations and our positive reinforcement training, we can improve the lives of these birds and give them a chance to become an extraordinary Animal Ambassador.

We have been contacted about three very special birds in need of our care and facilities.  With your help, these three beautiful birds can make a wonderful addition to our educational and entertaining free-flight programs, and can help us achieve our mission of supporting conservation through education!

Each bird has a unique story, meet them below!

Black Vulture, Balin, was found as an egg by a couple, hatched at their home and was immediately imprinted to people.  At two weeks old the couple brought Balin to Rogers Wildlife Rehabilitation Center and has since made a couple of appearances at our programs.  We would like Balin to become a permanent part of the Window to the Wild family, but in order to add him to our Texas Parks & Wildlife and U.S. Fish & Game Education Permits we need:
     -8' x 12' x 8' enclosure
-Food such as rodents and rabbits
     -Veterinary care
     -Winterizing the enclosure
     -Program requirements:
*Telemetry which is a small tracking device worn on
the bird to monitor location during free-flight
            demonstrations
*Crate to transport bird to programs
Total funds needed - $2200
Silvery Cheek Hornbill needs a new program facility home.  She would be a fantastic addition to the Window to the Wild free-flight program, already having flown in a few venues over large audiences.  In order for this Silvery Cheek Hornbill to call Window to the Wild home she needs:
     -10' x 10' x 8' enclosure
-Food such as Mazuri Softbill pellets, fruit and
       mealworms
     -Veterinary care
     -Winterizing the enclosure
     -Program requirements:
          *Telemetry
*Crate to transport bird to programs
Total funds needed - $2800
Non-releasable juvenile Bald Eagle needs a home that can provide extensive training and care.  Please help us bring this iconic bird to Window to the Wild by contributing.  In order for this non-releasable Bald Eagle to be added to our Education Permits we need:
     -20' x 40' x 10' enclosure
-Food such as fish, rabbits, and rodents
     -Veterinary care
     -Winterizing the enclosure
     -Program requirements
          *Telemetry
*Crate to transport bird to programs
Total funds needed - $4000
