We were recently notified by the city that there were various errors made by city management on how our business and building were originally classified when we opened last year, and that our new and current buildings are now being called into code compliance.
Some of these requirements are fairly reasonable. You will notice we have recently installed new panic hardware on our doors to allow swift exit in case of an emergency, but are still able to keep our doors safely locked from the outside. Also, we will soon be installing a new fire alarm system along with pull down stations at each of our exits for the safety of our children and families.
Some of the other requests made by the city are both costly and less reasonable, but nonetheless we are still working to manage them in a timely and efficient manner. These requests include a $40,000+ structural update to our ceiling per fire code.
Amidst hosting fun-filled and student-packed summer camps throughout this summer, our team has been in frequent meetings and in direct communication with city officials to work out a fair timeline to complete these new demands and for us understand this process we are in. We have been learning so much during this season and we are so grateful for the prayers and continued support you all have shown. YOU are why we do what we do and the WonderHere future is so bright! We cannot wait to share in it with you and your family.
So please help help share this GoFundMe page with family and friends to help us raise funds to cover these new expenses. We feel so fortunate to share with each of you that our team had carefully budgeted and set aside all of the necessary funds to expand, but unfortunately the new demands of the city are just more than we can handle on our own. This GoFundMe page will help provide some of the much needed help to assist our studio as we move forward with both expanding and complying with city code requirements.
