Zimba & Marabella's Medical Fund

My name is Laura London, I am a professional dog trainer in Los Angeles. In Decebmber 2015, with the support of the Downey Animal Care & Control Center and ShelterMe.com, I started a shelter dog training program. The goal of this training program is to help the shelter dogs, by training basic manners & skills they can take with them when they get adopted. We also offer support to adopters pre and post-adoption.
In June we reicieved a call from the shelter, informing us that a dog in our training program, Zimba, a stray female pitbull mix, was going to be euthanized for an Upper Respiratory Infection(URI). We only had until the end of the day to save her! The shelter is at capacity and they have to make room for more animals coming in. We agreed that this would NOT be the end for Zimba. She'd come so far, from the street, to the shelter, to the training program. She was coming out of her shell, she was sweet, smart and deserving of a chance. We raced to the shelter, pulled her out and took her straight to a private veterinarian for evaluation and treatment. She was given a good prognosis, but was going to have to stay at the hospital to recover.
Days later it was deja vu! Another dog in the program, Marabella, a beautiful female white/grey pitbull, was diagnosed with a URI and was scheduled to be euthanized. What could we do?! We pulled her out and checked her in to the same hospital Zimba was recovering at.
Zimba & Marabella are both doing great and ready to check out of the hospital.

While we try to raise funds to pay the mounting vet bills we also need to focus on finding a foster, or better yet a forever family for these two beautiful girls. Please comment here if you are interested in opening your home to one of these sweet, trained, smart, beautiful girls.
Money raised by this page will be used to pay the vet bills. Any funds over that will be put aside for the next time we have to make a life or death decision.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, share this, participate and/or support this campaign. Zimba & Marabella thank you too!
