A Headstone For Sterling
Donation protected
Sterling was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba,Canada and came from a some what difficult upbringing . A difficult life that took him down a dark road to becoming an alcoholic and living on the street.
He would in later years live in Nunavat and then eventually settled in Edmonton, Alberta. He was known on the street for his amazing aboriginal artwork and his Keanu Reeves impersonations. He was very well known at the Boyle Street Co-op, Bissell Centre, Salvation Army, and The Hope Mission in the downtown core.
On January 11/17 Sterling was travelling on a city bus and asked the bus driver for help because he felt sick. He dropped to the floor on that bus from a heart attack and no one performed CPR on him. Sterling went without oxygen to his brain for 16 minutes. He lived for 13 days in the hospital and God called him home on January 23/17. He was only 36 years old.
Even though his life was hard he brought a lot of joy, smiles, and laughter to so many who knew him. He was so loving and is greatly missed by myself, family, and friends. I am asking for donations for a headstone for Sterling. It would mean the world to myself, his family, his children, and friends. I can't imagine not having a headstone and being forgotten.Thank you in advance and God bless.
