For over 10 years I've been a staunch advocate for independent, craft beer. Like any industry there are stories to be told, beers to be drank, and of course people who are responsible for making this happen. Today, I am recognizing the largest minority in the beer industry, overlooked by most - women in beer. It's a fact, there are few women who own or work for a brewery. Which is why I'm drawing attention to a charity that supports women, founded by a woman, with an exclusive membership for women - The Pink Boots Society .
With your help, I intend on sponsoring a scholarship or scholarships that can send a female brewer or brewery employee to:
* Belgium
* Hop & Brew School in Yakima, Washington
* the Craft Brewers Conference
* Germany
* the Siebel Institute in Chicago, Illinois
* University of California in Davis
* and more
In exchange for your donation, upon completion of my goal, I will be removing a stereotypical characteristic associated with countless male brewers and brewery employees - my beard. Which of course will be filmed to prove I am a man of my word.
About the Pink Boots Society charity
We are the female movers and shakers in the beer industry. We get the beer brewed and fermented with the highest possible quality. We also own breweries, package the beer, design beers, serve beers, write about beer, and cover just about any aspect of beer, and we are all women. Most importantly, we teach each other what we know through our own seminar programs, and we help each other advance our beer careers by raising money for educational scholarships.

* OSU Online Craft Brewery Startup
You help is appreciated not just by me but those who can make their dream a reality.
