A Sibling for Hudson

Our names are Laura and Matt, and this is our son, Hudson. Hudson is our world, and he is our "why." We are trying to raise money to be able to adopt a sibling for him.

When we first met at grad school studying to be teachers, we had no idea just how hard it would be for us to have a family. Our battle with infertility led to three initial rounds of IVF costing tens of thousands of dollars in order to achieve a dream most people make happen for free (or at least a bottle of wine). We've spent our entire savings (and as a teacher, that's not much these days). We've borrowed thousands of dollars from family. We've endured multiple miscarriages and negative pregnancy tests. We've built up hope only to have it crushed. 

There is no doubt in our minds that our son is a miracle. He is our greatest gift. We fought the battle of our lives and won. Hudson, his worth, will never be taken for granted. We are blessed beyond belief that he is a part of our family.

We desperately want to give Hudson a sibling. We have tried two more IVF cycles, as well as an IUI cycle in order to make that happen... only to experience the ache of failure again. We are out of money, and once again, strugging to find hope. 

Sometimes, when putting Hudson to bed at night, he cries and tells us he feels alone and that he wants a baby brother or sister. This breaks our hearts. How do you explain to a child, let alone an adult, all we've done to try. He deserves a sibling to navigate life with and we're on a mission to make it happen. This, he, is our reason for reaching out for help.

The struggle of infertility is difficult to relate to others. This is a cry for help. The more people we reach, the better our chances are that someone, somewhere can help us. We desperately want to adopt to not only give Hudson a sibling, but to provide a home for a child in need. Most private adoption agencies, like the one we would use, cost at least $20-30 thousand dollars. We deeply appreciate any help you can give us.

Maybe, just maybe, you'll be the one(s) to help make our dream come true by completing our little family and give Hudson a sibling. We know that there are so many deserving people out there, but we are trying. We are not giving up. Because if we had given up on our dreams when things seemed bleak, Hudson wouldn't be here today.
