Chet & Kohan's Journey
Donation protected
Chet and Kohan's journey started in December 2014 when Rachel and Warwick found out they were having one of the rarest type of twins called MoMo twins. MoMo twins are only 1% of all twin pregnancies and there are many complications and risks that go along with a MoMo twin pregnancy.
Soon after learning they were having this rare but blessed pregnancy they also found out one of their little angels had complications, him stomach had formed on the wrong side and had severe cardiac issues. They were given 3 choices with their pregnancy but chose to fight for their unborn babies every step of the way.
Chet and Kohan were born on the 12th May at 30 weeks and as a family they have fought everyday for the survival of their son Kohan. Kohan had emergency surgery for a twisted bowl at 4 days old and obstructed bowel surgery at 4 weeks old.
Rachel and Warwick have had 4 phone calls to say the doctors didn't think Kohan would make it through the night, but Kohan is so amazingly strong he has made it through every time. Kohan is a true inspiration and is a true fighter .
Chet is currently enjoying life at home keeping mum and dad up at all hours of the night.
Kohan has now had hisfirst stage of his heart surgery and will have his second procedure at 6 months old (between January and March 2016) and then another between 3 and 5 years old.
Rachel is unable to work and Warwick has had to cut down to part time work as Kohan requires full time care at home. Kohan is unable to be left upset as he turns himself blue from his heart condition.
Financially this is hard on the young family as they have a mortgage, travel to and from lady cilento for hospital appointments, medication for the boys and everyday living expenses.
For those who know Rachel and Warwick will know this has been a tough road for them both physically and emotionally, but they will not give up the fight for Kohan. They have been by his side every single step of this very tough journey and will continue to be by his side every single day for the future.
Any donation is greatly appreciated big or small to help out these loving parents and their beautiful MoMo twin boys.
