Helping Hunter Heal
Donation protected
Hello everyone. My name is Stefanie and I am a Mother of three beautiful children. On April 3, 2016 my 11 year old son, Hunter, was in an awful burn accident. He was at a neighbors house (his father was just a few yards away from him at the time) as a bystander at a tree burning event, in the comotion of the fire getting a little out of control he was accidentally splashed with gasoline onto his legs and left hand which set him on fire (it was not known by his father that there was a bucket of open gasoline being used). 11% of Hunter's body was burned and 10% of that was 3rd degree/full thickness burns which required skin grafting surgery. They removed his good skin from his top upper legs to graft his burn areas which changed his wound healing surface to roughly 20% of his body. He was in the University of Utah Burn Unit for 23 days. Now that he is released from the inpatient unit we have to return to the hospital 3 times a week for physical therapy and wound care checkups. Hunter's full recovery time for his burns and daily therapy is 12 to 16 months. Hunter has such high spirits and tries to always be the happy kid he's always been.
I started this gofundme account to help with the copays for his hospital visits and future surgies he will need as he has his growth spurts.
We will be forever greatful for anything you're able to help Hunter with. If you're not able to donate to my little mans fund that is okay, but I would love to get my son's story out there so the world knows using gasoline to start and/or make a fire grow larger is very dangerous and should not be done. The outcome of what could happen to you or someone you know just isn't worth it. Please be safe. ♡
Thank you with all of my heart, love and prayers.
