Aaron O'Brien

Two weeks before Christmas 2016, Aaron (28 yrs old) was diagnosed with stage 1B stomach cancer. Within a couple days, the cancer had spread and he was classified as stage 2 stomach and liver cancer. Over the next week, the cancer continued to spread at a rapid rate. Just before Christmas, Aaron was further diagnosed with stage 3 lymphoma cancer, as well as stage 1 kidney and liver failure. After Christmas, Aaron’s kidneys and liver had healed almost back to normal. Unfortunately though, he was now diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma, stage 1 stomach cancer, stage 1 throat cancer, tumors in each lymph node and 3 tumors in his stomach. Aaron started chemo treatments (3 times per week) on January 9, 2017. Unfortunately, the chemo has been hard on Aaron’s heart. Aaron had issues with high blood pressure before and now his heart has water around it and one of the valves is clogged. Earlier this month, Aaron had suffered a mild heart attack and a week ago suffered a mild stroke.

Aaron has had to quit his job as he is unable to work during treatments. The chemo and radiation treatments are not covered by OHIP. We, his family, are trying to raise money to help cover the cost of all the medical treatments he requires, as well as his basic needs.
