Aaron's Playground

Aaron's Playground is an initiative to build a memorial playground in the Twin Cities area. With your help, it will soon become a place where all children can play, laugh, learn, and grow. Please help support us in creating this beautiful tribute to our late son, Aaron.
"Aaron" refers to Aaron Zachary Markovitz, born August 27th, 2018 to his loving parents Becky and Craig Markovitz. Due to pregnancy complications, Aaron entered the world 11 weeks before his due date at a small but mighty 2 lbs, 3 ounces. Though he was born generally healthy, because Aaron arrived so early, he had extremely premature lungs and needed breathing support. The ventilators saved his life but also damaged his fragile lungs causing bronchopulmonary dysplasia or chronic lung disease. He would live on a ventilator in the NICU for only 7 weeks before he passed away on October 15th, 2018 in the arms of his parents.
Aaron was a warm, affectionate baby who loved to be held. His eyes were filled with wonder and his head filled with promise. He touched the hearts of everyone he met, including his parents, both sets of grandparents, the NICU nurses and doctors, and the various friends and family who came to visit him in the hospital.
Please join us in raising funds to build a community playground in Aaron's memory. With your help, Aaron's life and legacy will be a place in our community where children of all ages can find happiness. For more information, see our website at www.aaronsplayground.org.
