Abby's Gap Year

Hi, my name is Maddie Vogelsang. I'm from Atlanta, Georgia and I am trying to raise money for my little sister, Abby Vogelsang, to have the opportunity to take a gap year. Abby is 17 years old and full of adventure and life! She is my best friend and favorite person, and she loves to explore, hike, and most of all help other people. Instead of taking the traditional college route, Abby's dream for the past 4 years or so has been to take a year to travel and do service work before college. She has done extensive research and is currently applying to programs that combine cultural experience, outdoor adventure, and service, such as Where There Be Dragons. She has worked extremely hard throughout high school in order to pay for this by herself, taking jobs in food service and babysitting, and has saved nearly every penny for the past few years. However, a reputable, good quality gap year program is expensive, and I have seen firsthand how frustrating it is for her to work as hard as she does and not make enough to fund her dream. 

Any money raised will go directly to her gap year program. She does not know where exactly she is going yet, but I really want to her to be able to have this once-in-a-lifetime experience because I know it will transform her life in a big way. I am planning on keeping this fundraiser a secret until her birthday on November 1st. Please know that any donations would mean the absolute world to both me and Abby, and we will never forget your kindness. For anyone who donates or is interested, I will keep you updated on her adventures, which program she chooses, and how it impacts her life. Abby is truly an amazing person and she's my hero, and I want her to bring her light and joy to people who need it most!
