Support Rohingya fleeing Myanmar
Donation protected
The Myanmar government and army are massacring the persecuted Rohingya minority and driving them from their homes by the thousands. Hundreds are dead, villages have been destroyed and aid has been cut off to the mountainous region.
The Australian Burmese Rohingya Organisation is raising urgently needed funds to get emergency aid to the local communities in Myanmar and those fleeing into Bangladesh, including food and water, emergency shelter and medical supplies.
Many of the local Australian Rohingya community have lost their families and had their villages destroyed. They need to help their community but don't have much to give, being mostly refugees themselves.
As well as financial support, the Australian Rohingya community asks for your support in keeping this urgent issue on the international agenda and in the forefront of our governments.
The local Rohingya community in Melbourne has determined the agency by which funds from your donations will get to the people who need it most.
The Human Appeal was selected as their established grassroots relationships with local, national and international partners means they can access some of the most hard to reach places at the most vulnerable of times.
Where will your money go?
$100 you can provide food parcel to 5 refugee families.
$125 you can provide clothing to 5 families.
$200 you can provide tent shelter and utensils to 2 families.
$700 you can build a water well with sanitation facilities.
$1750 allows a mobile medical clinic to treat 250 people a day.
