Aubrey's Leg Lengthening Fund

Donation protected

Aubrey was born with a condition called Proximal Femoral Focal Deficiency (PFFD), also known as Congenital Femoral Deficiency (CFD) it's a rare, non-hereditary birth defect that affects the pelvis, particularly the hip bone, and the proximal femur. At birth Aubrey's left femur was about 60% shorter than her right femur. Because of the severity of her CFD our local doctors told us our only options were amputation or Van Nes rotationplasty but after much research we found a doctor who said he could lengthen Aubrey's leg. The estimated discrepancy at maturity is 39 cm or 15.4 inches. It will take several lengthening procedures to get Aubrey's legs even. Dr Paley is located in West Palm Beach, Fl and we live in Paris, TX which means we have to make lots of trips to Florida and during each lengthening we have to stay in Florida for 3-4 months. In May 2012 Aubrey had her first lengthening. We gained 8cm which is the maximum amount you can gain with each lengthening. We are planning her 2nd lengthening this summer, June 2015. Traveling and staying in WPB, Fl gets very expensive so we've created this in hopes of raising money to help offset some of the medical and living expenses that accumulate during the lengthening procedure. Anything you feel led to donate will be greatly appreciated!
