Athlone Community Radio (ACR) is a community broadcaster which has been on air since 2008. The station has grown immensely over the past 16 years. Our community-based content gives a platform to groups, clubs, organisations, charities, local businesses, artists, and individuals. We also provide training in community media, media literacy, presenting, producing, editing, researching, and we deliver QQI accredited courses.
As a vital part of our community, Athlone Community Radio serves as a powerful tool for communication, education, and entertainment. However, to continue providing these essential services, we need your help. Our goal is to raise funds to cover the necessary overheads that keep our station operational.
We offer news and information relevant to our local community. From local events to important public announcements, we keep our listeners informed.
We celebrate our community's diversity by featuring a wide range of music, arts, and cultural programming. This helps preserve and promote local culture and heritage.
Our educational programs provide valuable information on various topics, including health, finance, and technology, empowering our listeners with knowledge.
Volunteering at Athlone Community Radio provides individuals with the opportunity to learn new skills, from broadcasting and journalism to technical and administrative abilities.
Volunteers become active participants in the community, making connections and building networks that enrich their personal and professional lives.
Being part of our team fosters confidence, creativity, and a sense of accomplishment among volunteers.
Local organisations can use our platform to promote their events, services, and initiatives, reaching a wider audience and engaging more effectively with the community.
Athlone Community Radio provides opportunities for collaboration between various community groups, fostering unity and collective action.
By highlighting the work of community organisations, we help them gain the recognition and support they need to thrive.
Why We Need Your Help:
Operating a community radio station involves several expenses, including rent, utilities, equipment maintenance, and more. By contributing to our funding campaign, you are directly supporting the backbone of Athlone Community Radio, allowing us to maintain and enhance our services.
Athlone Community Radio is a lifeline for our community. Your support ensures that we continue to be a beacon of information, culture, and connection in the local area. Please consider making a donation today and help us keep our community strong and vibrant.
Please share our appeal with friends, family, and colleagues. The more people we reach, the stronger our community support will be. Thank you for your generosity and support.
