First, let me say that I am so grateful that my family and friends are safe. Nothing is more important. But this business is our family's main income, and we are devastated by this loss. I opened my store just 9 months ago, on a shoe string, and now it’s decimated. The day after the high water mark, I found out that our insurance will not cover any of our losses.

I am an extremely hardworking and resourceful person, and I will re-open. It will take time, and I need help. I design and handcraft original products in wool felt and leather. My entire inventory, machines and fixtures were completely destroyed as the floodwaters rose in Sebastopol. As my fellow makers know, it will take me a long time to handcraft enough product to restock my store. I can’t just order more goods. The store must be dried and cleaned. The interior must be repaired and rebuilt.

Life doesn’t stop when disasters hit. Bills come due and rents need to be paid, even when your income stops. Any help you can offer to bridge this gap would be greatly appreciated by me and my family.
