Aedan Wall Medical Support Fund

Last May, our brother Aedan Wall was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a very rare form of cancer that developed in Aedan's groin.  After a brave eight months of battling the cancer with chemotherapy and radiation treatments, we were heartbroken to hear the cancer was too aggressive and that it had spread to other regions of his body. On the morning of January 3, 2016, it broke our hearts to hear that our brother Aedan had passed away.

Let me share some information about our brother Aeden.  He is literally the strongest person we know. Throughout his life, and at our beloved Christian Brothers Academy that brought us together, he has participated in various sports (wresting, football, crew, and rugby) but his passion has always been in the gym.  Aedan would spend many hours performing powerlifting routines, with the goal of one day becoming a competitve bodybuilder.  He has always been deeply committed to strengthening his body and to achieving his goal.  Aedan is also an enthusiastic Jets fan. He loves to go to games with his family and followed the team religiously! He was very lucky to meet Calvin Pryor in his last weeks, a very wonderful athlete who spent his Christmas Day with out friend just talking and answering his many questions. Throughout his fight with cancer, Aedan maintained a strong sense of hope in recovering and remained committed to doing what he had to do to stay strong. To the last days, he maintained a positive spirit despite the physical and emotional pain he is experienced.

Aedan was a good friend.  Outwardly, he had a tough demeanor, but inside he was gentle, with a heart of pure gold.  He was a loyal and compassionate friend--the kind that is hard to find.  He was always the first to defend his friends and stand ready to help when you need him. Aedan was always the life of a party and could brighten anyone's day with his boisterous personality and wide smile. We have all shared many good times together and we will cherish those times forever.

Watching our brother go through this horrific battle with cancer has been painful and the most challenging experience of our young lives.  We have learned quickly that life offers no guarantees and that we should never, ever, take anything for granted.  We cannot begin to comprehend the excrutiating suffering his family is enduring.  We can only imagine. And, that alone brings a deep, intense sadness to our hearts.

Right before the cancer struck, the family was experiencing some financial challenges. Aedan was working at a local supermarket to generate income while balancing school work at Brookdale.  Since Aedan's illness, his mom, Eleanor, has been with her son 24/7 and has been unable to work.  His dad, Eamon, has been working from the hospital as best as he can.  Both are where they should be; spending all the time they had with Aeden--together as a family.  However, bills still need to be paid including housing, Aedan's older brother Liam's college tuition, and the considerable medical bills that continue to grow.  The family is in serious need of financial assistance.  We may not be able to take away the sadness and pain that Aedan and his family are experiencing, but we can help by taking some of their financial worries away. Aside from our friendship, it is the only gift we can give.

Please open your heart to our brother Aedan and his family.  No one should ever have to experience this level of pain, but especially not through the holiday season. Consider donating; any amount, however small helps! Through this fund we hope that we can offer the Wall family financial support so that they can dedicate their time and focus to taking care of Aedan and not having the added financial weight on their shoulders.  Aedan deserves so much more than we can give, but we hope this will help.  We will always love him and will remain brothers forever!  Thank you for your support.
