A Home for Mercy the Runaway Pig
Donation protected
On Friday May 29th Mercy was found by the highway in Winnipeg having fallen off a transport truck.
Mercy had visible injuries, evidence of a hard life in captivity. If returned to the farm she will face pain suffering and an untimely death.
Several animal rights activists in Winnipeg have been working to have Mercy transported to an animal sanctuary where she can live out the rest of her days in peace. We have two sanctuaries that are prepared to take her and we are working on negotiating her release!
Please help us raise the funds required to have Mercy transported to her forever home! Money donated will help with transportation and settlement costs. If any money is left over it will be donated to the sanctuary to help them offset the cost of taking on a new animal.
UPDATE - Sadly, Mercy was sent for "processing" and we were denied the chance to save her. Due to information provided to us early on, we were extremely hopeful that the rescue would be successful. We are truly sorry for the outome and we are all heartbroken over the loss. Anyone who would like a refund is welcome to request one and refunds will be issued the week of June 9th. Any donations not claimed by that date will be donated to the Happily Ever Esther Farm Sanctuary who have named one of their rescued piglets Mercy in her honour.
