The Albemarle High School Jazz Ensemble needs your help to Swing to Savannah!
Last fall we auditioned for Swing Central Jazz, the prestigious high school jazz competition that is part of the huge Savannah Music Festival each year. A few weeks ago we were thrilled to learn that we've been selected as one of only 12 bands in the nation to participate!
We are so excited to get to compete at this level and to learn from the many renowned jazz professionals at the clinics and rehearsals there. But first, we have to fundraise like crazy.
For the trip, we'll need transportation for ourselves and our equipment, plus food and lodging, so we're launching this campaign and spreading the word. We'll also be performing in benefit concerts and making other appeals in Charlottesville, but this is our biggest hope.
The competition is right around the corner, March 30-April 1, and we're already preparing. Please help us reach our goal and make the most of this amazing opportunity by donating to our campaign. We'll keep you posted via updates to this site, and we promise to make you proud!
Thank you so much for your support in helping AHS Jazz Swing to Savannah!

(Lisa Martin [the organizer] is mom of Cole [shown in the video]. She is not "Facebook verified" because she is hopelessly unhip. If you have any doubts or questions, please email her using the little envelope by her name up top. Thanks!)
