Life Saving Heart Surgery

Our lil warrior is 6 weeks post surgery, after some complications..
- hemorrhaging and needing to be resuscitated
- air outside his abdominal wall
- Kyle leak (fluid leaking from his lymphatic system)
- Intubated for a month
- deep vain thrombosis (blood clots)
Although his heart surgery is a success, and he is thriving we have not been able to leave the ICU due to his blood pressure is high (157-165).
Unfortunately this issue has not been able to be controlled with medicine. Max heart surgeon Dr Michael Ma has decided that Max will need a second surgery to be able to relieve the pressure in his heart. Max team will try to wait at least 12 weeks from the original surgery to let his thorax heal completely. For now, Max will continue to get better and he will be under the watchful eye of his medical team.
We share this information not only to update everyone who has been generous and has donated but to also have Max be a testimony to Gods grace and his mercy on our lil heart warrior. He wakes everyday with a smile and willingness to continue and that has been the most powerful reminder to our family that miracles are real and we have been blessed to be a part of Max’s life.
