Alanna's Hospital & Brain Surgery Bills
Donation protected
Valentine's Day 2018 I was told that I had a cyst in my brain, taking up more than half of it. The doctors explained that it had been there since I was forming in my mother's womb and over time, had been getting worse and negatively affecting me more. I was getting sick constantly and blacking out, and I was in so much pain I was no longer going to classes or doing anything. The doctors were shocked I even made it in that day, telling me someone in my condition should probably be in a coma.
My mom and I made the decision to drop out of my junior year of college and move home, and just two short weeks after finding out about this, I underwent brain surgery. Originally, the doctors told me I would only have a two day recovery in the hospital and then I would get to go home.
Well, that wasn't the case. I spent almost a month in the hospital regaining my strength and learning how to walk again. I was put in an intensive PT unit where they worked with me 3 hours a day to get my strength back.
I lost everything I had and was stuck in a hospital room day in and day out. Getting frustrated staring at my feet wondering why they won't move. Getting frustrated that I have double vision that results in me wearing an eyepatch for six months. Just utterly defeated.
I had brain surgery February 28, 2018 and I was walking with assistance (whether it be a walker or a cane) until April 24, 2018.
As you can imagine, a month in the hospital and a brain surgery is very expensive. And that brings me here. I have more than $6,000 in hospital bills to pay, and I have absolutely no idea how I am going to get this money. My mom is a single mother, and we have been trying to figure out a way to pay for these bills and have had no success. She didn't want me to make a gofundme, I just don't know what else to do. If you feel it on your heart, I would appreciate any donation you can give.
Thanks for your time!! <3
