Imagine being 9years old and never being able to do the the things normal kids do, such as walking and doing other daily self care task for yourself that is the life that Ali lives every day. Ali was born with Arthrogryposis (a rare joint and muscle disease) Shortly after her life began her biological parents weren't able to provide her with the proper care that she deserved and her grandparent stepped in to become her adopted parent and give her the best care that They possibly could. At 9 years old Ali is continuing to grow into a beautiful young lady but with that comes weight gain and her grandma (mom) who is 51 struggles daily to lift her in and out of the van to get Ali to her daily obligations (Dr appt PT school and other things) Ali does have a power chair but no way to transport it. Ali travels regularly to the Shriners in Philadelphia PA where she Has had 16 surgeries and will soon go through another surgery to correct an 84% curve in her spine. Her mom can not even imagine what it will be like to have to lift her in and out of the van after her surgery she will have more braces to wear which will increase her over all weight. Getting a handicap van that will allow Ali to travel with her powerchair will allow her to have more independence and allow her mom to release a heavy burden off her own physical health. As a mom she will continue to do what it takes to provide the best possible life for Ali, but a handicap van sure would be a great blessing to Ali and her mom's life's
