Aloha Family and Friends,
I am so excited to have been selected as Hawaii's male athlete for the Special Olympics 2019 World Games in Abu Dhabi, UAE. On March 6th through the 22nd 2019, my fellow Team USA athletes and I will participate in a variety of events in hopes of bringing home the Gold. I will be participating as a member of the track and field team, in the mid distance events; 3K, 1500, and 4X400 relay.
I am a Junior at Roosevelt High School. Not only do I participate year round in various Special Olympics sports and activities, I am fortunate to also compete with my peers in OIA sporting events as well. From a young age I’ve had to overcome many challenges; gross motor, speech and intellectual delays just to name a few. I am diagnosed with Autism disorder and ADHD. Although these labels can be discouraging, I am encouraged to be a part of Special Olympics Hawai’i, where I can be successful and confident alongside my peers. I am striving to overcome diversity and be all that I can possibly be, turning my disabilities into possibilities.
I am honored to have been chosen to represent Hawai’i at the 2019 World Games. This is an opportunity of a lifetime! My hope is to bring Hawaii’s spirit of Aloha to more than 7000 athletes and their families from around the world.
Although all my expenses will be sponsored by Special Olympics Hawai’i, my biggest fans and support unit (my family) will have to raise the funds needed to join me on their own. It's very important to me to have my family by my side on this once in a lifetime experience. I humbly ask for your support to help my family join me on this awesome journey as I represent the United State of America and our home State of Hawai’i. I am looking to raise $15,000.00 by March 1, 2019. This will help to cover my family’s travel and lodging expenses.
I would like to thank you in advance for your monetary gifts. Your support means so much to me. There are no words to say how much having my family there as I compete at the 2019 World Games means to me. With a grateful heart, I am humbled by your love and generosity.
