Paralyzed military translator in need of dire help
Don protégé
We need your help for the family of a security guard who is now paralyzed after being shot while on duty. Ahmad Mahir Amiri was a former translator for the US military. For 8 years, he put his life at risk helping American troops in dangerous conditions. Then he was afforded the opportunity to come to the Dallas, Texas to start a new life and keep his family safe.
Sadly, in December of 2018, Amiri was shot after confronting a man during a burglary and was left to die. As he fought for his life, he was rendered paralyzed from the neck down. He currently is at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, TX, where he is in critical condition and awaits a possibility of moving to a nursing home.
His wife, Zahra Amiri, is now left alone to take care of their three young children, ages 8, 5 and 2. Also, the oldest daughter has a severe disability that requires the mother to stay home and take care of her.
The family has no way to pay their rent, pay for food or even have someone to drive them places, including to the hospital to see their father. He was the sole provider and now he might need professional care 24/7.
Every little bit helps and goes a long way. Please donate and then share this with your community and help spread the word. Let us heal this family in their time of sorrow and let them focus on their family without having to worry about the other stuff. God Bless!
