Andrew Romesser Support Fund
Donation protected
On Friday, October 13th Marinda’s six-year-old son, Andrew Romesser and his father Allan were in a serious car accident. Sadly, Andrew’s father died at the scene. Andrew was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Andrew is fighting for his life. His injuries are many and serious. He is on a ventilator; both his lungs having been bruised. His liver and spleen have suffered deep lacerations and his abdomen remains open so that doctors can be sure they heal correctly. Because of these injuries and multiple broken bones, Andrew has been placed in a medically induced coma so that he doesn’t have to suffer the pain while he heals.
Allan was a Navy reservist stationed in Miami. He was greatly respected and loved by the members of his unit. The support of Allan’s unit during this tragedy cannot be understated. Hours after learning about Allan’s death and Andrew’s condition, they had Marinda and her daughter on a flight to Fort Lauderdale. They then picked them up from the airport and escorted them to the hospital. Exemplars of honor and chivalry, the actions of Allan’s unit will not be forgotten. Allan is remembered fondly by family and friends as a kind, loving, and gentle soul much loved by his children, Evangelina and Andrew. He will be greatly missed.
The outpouring of sympathies has been enormous and immediate. Marinda is at the hospital in Fort Lauderdale caring for Andrew and accepting select visitors, close family, and friends.
Andrew is expected to be in the intensive care unit for weeks, and medical expenses will be substantial. We thank you for your kind donation, however small, to help support Marinda and her family during this time. We also ask for your prayers. Andrew is a strong little boy, but he can use all the help he can get.
Thank you
