Andrew Marble Memorial Fund
Our dear friend Andy was diagnosed with melanoma in 2014. The cancer was removed and he underwent a year of extremely difficult treatment to help prevent the cancer from relapsing. When treatment ended, Andy was once again healthy and celebrated by marrying the wonderful woman, Paola, who stood by his side throughout it all.
In May this year, Andy was having unbearable headaches and after going to the doctor discovered that the cancer had resurfaced in his brain. The location of the cancer required immediate surgery and he once again started treatment.
In August, Andy was experiencing back pain and again found himself in the hospital. This time the extremely aggressive cancer was found on his spine. Since May, Andy spent countless days in the hospital and had numerous procedures done. He was unable to work and his supportive wife Paola also missed significant amounts of time. Needless to say, the cancer not only took a physical and emotional toll but the financial expenses had been draining as well.
Throughout all the hardships of the illness Andy remained amazingly positive and upbeat. To talk to him you would never know he was having a bad day or experiencing pain. It would be understandable for anyone in similar circumstances to complain or be overwhelmed but Andy was always stoic and kept a fighting attitude. I take great pride in calling this brave man my best friend.
On November 12th Andy passed away after courageously battling melanoma. I take solace in all the great times Andy and I spent together though my world will never be the same without him. He was a great friend and special person that was liked by absolutely everyone he met. My deepest sympathies go out to his amazing wife Paola and his family.
I am asking for donations in his memory to help offset the financial burden this terrible disease has caused. Thank you in advance for your support.
