Project C.A.R.E
**The Campaign was renamed to Project C.A.R.E**
My name is Edward Tran and I'm starting this campaign to help change the future of the children in Cambodia. Recently, a relative in Cambodia died from malnutrition and unsanitary living conditions at the young age of 5. This event helped me realize how much people, especially children, are suffering in Cambodia. It also helped me realize how lucky I am to be living in the U.S. As a citizen in the United States, I appreciate everything my country has provided me and it's time for me to give back to other countries in need. After conversing with my mother about her hardships growing up there, I've gained the motivation to help the children living in Cambodia, and start Project C.A.R.E (Cambodia Aid & Relief Endeavor).
Their Homes
Many children in Cambodia face various challenges in their daily lives. Children are left living in small cottages with barely any clothes to keep them warm. The lack of food and sanitation causes many to die from starvation and other diseases. Many women and kids are left in the village practically naked. In fact, according to UNICEF, malnutrition affects about 40% of children under the age of 5 in Cambodia. On top of that almost 28% are underweight due to their inability to afford nutritious food. With the lack of recreational activities, many of these children are in danger of becoming depressed or developing mental illness. With little to almost none, many are left without clean water and only a few pieces of wood and the ground as their restroom. Surviving on this little, these people are doing everything they can to clutch onto their lives.
Their Toilets
Although I won't be able to change their lives completely, everything I do now will make a difference, little by little. I am trying to raise at least $500, that will go towards food, clothes, and other necessities for them to survive. A dollar or two may not seem like a lot for us, but for the children of Cambodia, that could be the difference between life and death. On Christmas, I will be going to Cambodia where I will personally deliver the care packages full of items purchased using the donated money. During those days, I hope to educate the children and teach them ways to use the items to the fullest value.
Please donate, every penny counts!
