Animals as Natural Therapy tractor
Donation protected
Every year, Animals as Natural Therapy works with over 400 youth-at-risk, veterans and the elder. We learned a long time ago that animals can teach humans about respect for self and others, trust and clear communication.
When Animals as Natural Therapy tractor proved to be too small for the job, we began to look into replacements. We applied for grant funding and received 27% from the Norman Archibald Charitable Foundation and the Chuckanut Health Foundation. Four more invidiual donors contributed an additional 41%. Now, we are down to our final $7,000 needed to pay for our tractor.
Our goal is raise the final $7,000 between November 1st and December 15th from supporters like you. Our tractor campaign is limited to only 45 days. Your contribution will go towards the tractor. This will free programing funds for programing. Any amount raised over our $7,000 goal goes directly towards programing.
Please help by contributing $5, $50 or even $500. Every bit helps.
Animals as Natural Therapy supports people in need. At ANT, we hear stories of lives transformed …
… stories like:
· how a returning veteran who’s PTSD manifested in a fear of letting his wife out of his sight. His healing began shifting that fear the day he met a horse named Starlight in our Veterans program.
· how a 100-year-old woman living at the Bellingham at Orchard Memory Care Center lights up, sings, praises and pets Alfie the rabbit. She doesn’t remember the Animals as Natural Therapy volunteer’s name but she always remembers Alfie’s.
· how a boy bounced from home to home, his foster parents stating he was too wild to be adoptable. This boy attended one of the Animals as Natural Therapy Safety Net programs. ANT offered a safe place for him to say out loud first with his horse, then with his group, that his father was in jail for trying to kill him. The staff, the mentors, even the children participating simply listened without judgement. He was adopted by a family five months later.
