My sister Anna was recently diagnosed with "acute pneumothorax." Her lung collapsed and was hospitalized since November 11th, 2016. Through observation and consultation, the resident surgeon finally suggested that she seek a second opinion from other surgeons. The surgeon who was going to perform an operation using fibrin glue to keep the lung in place, explained that the procedure was largely experimental. There was no guarantee that the hospital would order the necessary supplies and that Anna's insurance will cover it. In order to get a second opinion, Anna must pay her $2,000 deductible before any further actions can be taken. The $2,000 is just the tip of the health insurance iceberg. The money collected will be used to pay for the insurance bill and basic necessities.  My sister Anna has not worked for over four months and is struggling to make ends meet as it is. My sister is a mother of four dependent children and the closer we can get to finding a solution to this problem, the closer it will bring her back home and be there for her children.
