Annapolis Middle School Mentoring
Donation protected
Several years ago, a mentoring program for students of Annapolis Middle School was created. This program targets 8th grade students using basketball as an incentive to promote academic success and help limit behavior issues that sometimes happen throughout the school day. Over the years the program has gained momentum mainly because teachers and parents have noticed the impact this group has had on the school overall and made generous donations to previous gofundme campaigns. These donations have helped create school comradery among the students because it has allowed for school-wide incentive/events to take place where all students can come cheer on their team.
However, each new year brings a new group of 8th grade students who have been anxiously awaiting their opportunity to be apart of the program. WIth these new students comes new expenses for things like registering the team for the county rec league (Over $535), payments for referees, transportation, and etc. A lot of students have never been outside their hometown of Annapolis and this year they have a tremendous opportunity (if enough money is raised) to travel as a team across the Bay Bridge to play against Kent County Middle School.
These student athletes are held to a high standard of maintaining a high GPA and exemplorary behavior in all of their classes which helps prepare them for their transition to high school. Any contribution you could make would be greatly appreciated by the students and middle school itself.
Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to read our story
