Anne Cleveland, Mosaic Mermaid

Donation protected
Anne Cleveland, our beloved friend, swam away on June 24, 2017. She did it her way, peacefully at her Windansea home. Since November, Anne had a revolving door of friends and well-wishers in person and in spirit.  She stated the last few months were the most meaningful in her lifetime. She was overcome with the love of so many.

Besides many other channel swims, Anne swam the English Channel; two ways (55 miles), and was inducted into the International Marathon Swimmer's  Hall of Fame. Anne LOVED the ocean, often saying she felt more at home in the water, than on land. Our community was lucky to have Anne. She touched so many lives with her examples of supporting others and personal endurance.

Anne coached other swimming world record holders. She taught and practiced Yoga, Anne was an Ayurvedic Practitioner and Reiki healer. She served as a past LJTC President. Anne enjoyed the spirit of teenagers, and Coached the LJHS swim team.

Friends are reaching out to fund the creation of a 3x5 foot Mosaic Mermaid in honor of our dear Anne. It will be located at the Coggan Pool (La Jolla High School pool). You will be notified of the unveiling date/location: target date is August or September, 2018.

Should we exceed the end cost, remaining funds will go to a charity of Anne's preference. She was partial to a  "second chance" charity for Homeless women.
