My name is Annette Montgomery I am a Human Communications Major at the University of Central Florida. At my University I am apart of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Knights of Distinction, and I am a LEAD Scholars Academy alumna. LEAD is a leadership development program established to help young students become leaders in their community. I am also a proud advocate for children with Autism through initatives and partnering with Autistic schools in the greater orlando community.
I am privelaged to have been accepted and given the opportunity to study abroad in Madrid, Spain for the Spring semester of 2018. I would love to have your support in this learning experience. At IE University I will gain hands on experience in the communication field, while being immersed in a new culture. I will send updates through my social media pages of what I am learning and allow my community to experience all that I am experiencing through regular posts. By helping me, you will be making a monumental difference in my education and my overall perspective as a young woman.
Utilizing the budget sheet given to me by my university, the total cost for me to travel to Madrid, Spain and engage in this program is a couple thousand dollars. This fee includes, my flight, passport/visa and room and board for this 3 month experience, institution fees/tuition as well as transportation while I am there, it also covers my books/supplies for my classes, and meals. I will be applying for study abroad scholarships as well as working to pay off any additional costs. I am committed to being an example for my younger family members and my community. I want to show them that you can excel at anything you put your mind to, and nothing is out of reach.
One of my favorite scriptures is Psalm 46:5 I know that with God anything is possible and I am so grateful for this opportunity. Any amount is greatly appreciated, whether it is $1, $5, $20, or $50, please understand a little goes a long way and any donation no matter how small it is, is a blessing and greatly appreciated.
