We are raising funds to fight for justice for Anwaar, a cherished son, brother, nephew, cousin, grandson and friend who deserves to have a thorough investigation into his death.

AnwaarLahrichi-Greenwood went on holiday to Ibiza on 30 July 2018 and four days later at approx. 11:00 am on Sunday 5 August 2018 was found floating in the San Antonio Bay, Ibiza.  Anwaar was dead. He never returned home.

The family were informed of Anwaar's death on the evening of 5 August and almost immediately they received messages from individuals on social media telling the same story.

They all said Anwaar had been involved in an altercation with three men in the early hours of Saturday 4th August near Soul City night club, which resulted in him being hit repeatedly in the head with a bottle and was severely injured.  Although an ambulance attended the scene Anwaar wasn’t treated or taken to hospital.

This was the last known sighting of Anwaar, he was not seen again until his body was found floating in the bay some 30 hours later.  These witnesses had returned home but felt compelled to contact the family to tell them what they had seen and left their contact details to help.  One even gave a statement to the Ibizan police.

Two days later, on 7 August, the Foreign Office informed the family that Anwaar, a vibrant, kind, intelligent and courageous 24 year old, had died by accidental drowning.  Apparently, he had slipped and fell into the Bay and drowned having only scrapes and bruises on his body consistent with hitting boats or rocks.

Members of the family grew concerned about the various versions of events being told to them.

On the 10th August his family went to Ibiza to bring his body home.

On arrival the Ibizan police informed the family that Anwaar had been found in the Bay naked, wearing only his socks and when the family identified Anwaar's body they saw a deep wound to his head.  Therefore, we are raising funds to fight for justice for Anwaar.

The dead cannot cry out for justice.  It is a duty of the living to do so for them.
