A Prayer for my Dad

What would you do to save your fathers life? Is there anything you would not do? If you could take the suffering of a loved one in pain, would you? I'd like to start this with saying, We are just like you. We have felt the pain of a loved one dying of Cancer. We have felt the struggle in taking care of someone who is ill. But, we never once thought it would come a time in our lives where our hearts feel like its being strangled. Our own father fighting for his life when sometimes it feels as if there is no hope. Our names are Roger Kelley, Katie Kelley, and Megan Kelley. We have had an awesome life, have an amazing family, and at this very moment in time are losing one of the greatest men we have ever known.
Our father, Roger Kelley Sr. is in the fight of his life with NASH (Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis); and while still maintaining the strong paternal instincts he has always held, is being slowly consumed by the sickness inside him. The doctors have given him from 3-5 months to live, if not for a critical liver transplant. These donations we seek are to help pay for the astronomic insurance costs, the transplant operation itself and all other costs since dad has lost his job. We understand that it is never easy to give what you simply do not have, but it is as equally hard asking friends, family, and strangers to help save my fathers life. Looking back on the life he gave us, we would often think of him as invincible, so strong and caring; but seeing him weaken and become so frail is something we have a hard time contemplating as a reality. Time is of the essence, and if he does not get a transplant soon he will unfortunantly be fighting a losing battle with a failing liver.
Words cannot be written to express the gratitude we have for all of you amazing people reading this, and there is no way that we could ever repay you or show you the thanks you all deserve. I hope knowing that you've helped a man see his first grandchild, enjoy another moment with his wife of thirty-two years, and spend another christmas with his three children give you all a warmth in your heart. We are thankful in more ways than you could ever imagine.
