ARK - Run Around Cayman

We have a long list of students at George Town Primary (and other government schools) who need this caliber of academic intervention. We are looking for sponsors, either to sponsor a child entirely, for the school year or for any contribution toward fully funding one of these students.
The total cost of one student for 185 hours of one on one tutoring, for the entire school year is $11,662.50 USD. This provides for the 185 hours, transport for the teacher/s to go into the school daily, and Pre and Post Assessments, Reports and Multidisciplinary team meetings.
The independent sponsors receive information about the child, and the reports from the teacher so they can follow his/her progress. The sponsor is also so welcome to meet the child personally.
We work with the head of George Town Primary, the owner of Cayman Learning Center to best discern the child who will benefit from this program. The child is chosen based on their academic needs, apparent and documented delays and their ‘home life’ of which ARK substantiates. We focus this Initiative on children who are from significantly underprivileged circumstances.
George Town Primary is our Primary target, however, we hope that we can then move onto sponsoring children from East End, Prospect, Savannah and West Bay. Our research clearly shows that there are countless children who desperately need this intervention if they are to succeed.
If they cannot read, they cannot access the curriculum, then they cannot progress, they ultimately begin to experience low self esteem; behavioral issues and anxiety; thus begins a spiral of events that leads to a sense of hopelessness, low self esteem and mental health problems.
Please note that MER stands for Mentor Educate Reinforce - this student teacher/ARK relationship provides us a doorway into the child's life, this affords us the opportunity to mentor and support the student (and family) in other areas of their life and find ways to improve their standard of living, support network and help build their confidence and expand their scope of opportunities.
We strongly believe that this program will significantly improve the lives of countless students, from their self image, confidence, mental health, friendships and sense of purpose and a future. Ultimately this movement will reduce the cycle of poverty that so many children find themselves trapped in as they mature into adulthood.
Thank you so much for your interest and commitment to MER; every penny counts in getting another student enrolled in this invaluable and life changing program.
