A Risograph Dream

This has been a couple months in the making and now i can finally bring this idea to LIFE!
We always have the problem with finding out where we need to get our small press books printed. And we always seems to find things to fine tune in our work . . . working hard until the LAST MINUTE. Well I want to help change that . . .
My name is Cameron Nicholson, a Storyteller across various mediums based in Richmond, VA.
A little back story on me: born and raised In Portsmouth Va. I’ve been to various states all along the east coast and west, seeing and meeting amazing people. Being in Richmond has opened my eyes to the amazing talent here and i want to add to that.
My plan? To invest in a Risograph Printer. What is a Risograph (or Riso) you ask?
Let me break it down for you . . .
A Riso is a simple yet brilliant tool for anymore interested in producing high quality prints on a shoestring budget.
It is environmentally quick & easy to setup. Riso printing also use soy based inks. Riso printing relies on a layering technique to produce multicolored prints. From holiday cards to full comics; There are almost endless possibilities with this astonishing printer. Having this printer will not only let me make a name for myself in the comics world but also be able to become a publisher in the future! I’ve got awesome ideas and big goals for my future and i want to share those possibilities with you.
One major thing i can help is representation of people of color in the comic’s world. It is a goal to help push that forward. (One of the many goals) Giving the opportunity to share their stories to the world. Giving ones the chance to read this stories from beautiful people, beautiful story tellers.
Once i obtain the printer I’ll have to do a few test runs to get used to the machine and get all of the kinks out. So a few months after acquiring the printer I’ll be able to open up shop for local (Virginia) jobs only. Later this year i should be able to open up shop for the US, and in the future internationally. It’s honestly going to take a lot to get that far but with your help I’ll be able to start this long journey.
The goal?
to raise $ 1500 USD
This will have cover the printer being delivered with the black drum installed with a USB direct print controller installed in the machine. Any extra fees will come out of my pocket.
My aim goal? I want to aim to raise this money by this time next month. So i can get busy on opening up shop! I would appreciate this more than cars appreciate gas. Please & thank you all!
I have to add. The project is like a beautiful story being written. By getting this printer it's not just me writing the story, you are joining the story. You see the stories we tell are important and I want to bring these opportunities to a lot of people.
