Arkansas March For Science

Save the date for the 2nd annual "Arkansas March for Science": April 21st, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.
Why are we doing this? Because we are facing a growing disrespect and disdain for science from our elected officials. Whether its attacks on climate science, health care, gun violence research, agriculture, or air and water quality research, our government is repeatedly dismissing sound science in favor of appeasing political supporters.
We want our government policies to be based on sound science, and we want our leaders to stop attacking science for partisan political purposes. Our science should be well-funded and well-respected. Politics shouldn't dictate science.
On April 21st, we will March For Science--from the corner of Capitol & Pulaski Streets in Little Rock to the steps of the State Capitol building. Bring your science-supporting signs (not on sticks, please) and show your support for sound science. We'll have great science-based speakers from around the state who will fully explain the benefits of science to our nation--and to Arkansas specifically.
After the event, we'll have additional events at the Arkansas Museum of Discovery: science-based community organizations will be there to share information about how to get more involved, and there will also be a series of science-based presentations from local experts.
If you'd like to contribute toward the costs of putting on this event (permits, police officers, planning, materials), we'd definitely appreciate your support. Thank you for your help!
