A Safe Place for Us

After a long time of hardships and struggles, I am trying to rebuild my life. In June, I lost my best friend, and the only person who I felt truly cared about me my whole life. My mother passed away from a massive heart attack, leaving me to have conflicting emotions. I moved away from my only friend. I had to switch schools during my senior, but making new friends has been quite hard. I am keeping the others names annonymous, due to them being minors at the time I write this. 

My name is Samantha Rasmussen. During my struggles of losing my mother, my friend lost more than that. She was verbally abused, to the point CPS had to get involved.  She moved in with other family, but once again, she was abused. She had enough of the abuse, therefore, she left. She is currently in the process of getting emancipated, but it's effecting her education. My goal is to have a house. I want a place she can finally call home. I want her to have a safe place to go every night, and know she has a roof over her head and food in her stomach. After Graduation, I am planning on going to Northwestern Michigan College, so between saving for college, and for a house has been difficult. I just want to have a place to finally call home.
