Atlanta Transit Angels - Greeting Asylum Seekers
Donation protected
Refugees who pass a “credible fear interview” get released at bus stations across the Southern U.S. and given very little resources to connect with their family, friend, or sponsor on this side of the border. Roughly 60% of these asylum seekers travel through the Atlanta bus station. Our mission is to help asylum seekers traveling through Atlanta by providing:
· A friendly face
· Help navigating the station
· Food
· Baby needs
· Blankets
· Hygiene products
Volunteers meet the refugees at the terminal to help and provide aid items as needed. Unfortunately, these days, love and compassion can’t be traded for blankets and food. We have, however, gotten quite good at getting our costs down! Our nutrition kits are $2/kit, blankets are around $2.50, and children’s plush toys $1. All money donated goes towards purchasing items. That way, even a small donation is enough to help make a mom and her child a little more comfortable. Please help us continue providing comfort to asylum seekers in Atlanta by donating today!

All money donated goes toward items!
And, we are always looking for more volunteers!
Let us know if you would like to join us on a trip to the bus terminal!
