Fresh water solution for Flint MI

My name is Audrey Dismond... I was born in Flint MI, and have spent most of my life living in Flint. I made my living as a residential builder owning two construction companies both of which flourished. Service to the community was my commitment and foundation. My crews consisted of disadvantaged women who would not have otherwise had the opportunity to earn a very decent wage, continue their education or learn a trade. Privately funded charity for those who could not afford the necessary property improvements was routine. I retired in 2013 however still provide charitable services to those in need through construction. 
The water crisis in the city of Flint is a horrible thing and I want to help. I feel deeply connected to Flint, I've dedicated a significant portion of my life and career to its struggle. I'm raising money for what I feel is a viable fresh water solution that would be available to pregnant women, mothers and elders who have extremely high lead levels in their homes.
The money would be spent on whole house filtration units that are installed in each home. The systems are NSF certified, straight forward to install and reasonably priced. The systems also last for a minimum of six years, which gives the government time to resolve our infrastructure issues. I plan to execute this plan with transparency and accountability; accounting and completion updates will be posted to this site. Water bottle distribution would no longer be necessary and the amount of trash left behind on our planet will be reduced. My plan is to start with a group of ten houses to set the example of how seamless and effective this plan is. With the president set, the goal will expand to include all affected residences. If a portion of the funds that have been so generously donated to Flint for water, were allocated to this program, the goal would be easily achieved.
The devastation of this crisis is staggering, more and more children are permantly affected. There needs to be a more effective plan in place immediately, to deal with fresh water needs... time out for hydrating and bathing children with bottled water.
