Auntie Heather's Last Chance
Donation protected
For four years my auntie has been battling acute myeloid leukaemia. She was thank fully able to get a doner for a transplant which she has had twice, However, unfortunately the transplant hasn't worked and you're only able to try it twice and if it doesn't work your body won't accept it. Therefore there isn't anything more they can do for her in this country. She is on chemotherapy again to slow the aggressive cancer down from spreading but there is only so long she is able to have this treatment. Our only option is to raise money to fly her out to America for her to receive the advanced drugs and medicine they have over there for what she needs. However, as you can imagine this is a massive financial commitment and as much money needs to be raised as possible because of expenses including flights, visas, accommodation, hospital bills, medicine and so on. The treatment needed is roughly $25,000 a month. The medicine needed is called Idhifa and is to treat relapsed/refractory late stage acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) in patients with an IDH2 mutation. If you would like to find out more information about it please visit: https://www.sps.nhs.uk/medicines/enasidenib/. The reason she needs to go to American is because the drug isn't licensed in this country yet whereas it is in America and it is optimistic and seeing high results. We need to raise this money as quickly as possible as we really are on a time limit as to how long my auntie can hold on for. She has a whole family who love her and want to do everything they can for her. She has four children who can't afford to lose their mum. Please, anything you can spare to help out my auntie will be hugely, hugely appreciated!
