What started as a DREAM is now reality.... The TRUTH is, I really need the help of the my friends, acquaintances, community businesses sponsors, parents and leaders near and far to keep Let's DREAM Big Studio open.

I DREAM Big so that our youth can have an opportunity to develop their BIG DREAMS.

Here is how it all started...

“Give a man fish and he will eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime.”  D.R.E.A.M. Big is a concept; our programming is the DREAM in motion. Establised in October of 2009, Let's DREAM Big youth programming has been dedicated to providing relevant and empowering enrichment programs and workshops for youth, tweens and teens;  it is our mission to awaken and enhance the life tools needed to be successful leaders, innovative thinkers and caring citizens.

After months of thinking what action could I take personally and immediately start making an impact on lives, I invited a group of girls from the center I work at to hang out with me on a Saturday afternoon for a princess party.  The goal was to find out what issues and concerns girls had today; what were they interested in and how they viewed themselves, family structure and community. Five girls showed up and we had a great time, doing arts & crafts, singing and dancing before we sat down for girl talk where I guided them through a question and answer session on "What it means to be a princess."  The ‘girl talk’ opened the door to lots of questions about self-esteem, outside beauty, character and other issues important to them.  We dismissed 4 hours after the gathering began.  In the weeks to follow, lots of other girls where asking when the next DREAM Girls party was going to be, along with parents that heard about it.  Shortly thereafter, I asked the owners if I could use the space 2 Saturdays a month to see how the club could grow.  We began meeting every other Saturday from 11am-3pm, with lunch and snack included.  We quickly grew from 5 to 18 girls in three months and took on the moniker of D.R.E.A.M. Girls.

As the membership grew so did my vision for the girls and I quickly realized that our club was actually a program where the girls were blossoming into outspoken, confident and beautiful leaders.  It was the spark of an idea that turned into an inferno of success.  I added a few objectives such as, Community Service/outreach projects we could work on, DREAM Catcher Self-Esteem Academy, field trips, guest speakers, social events, etiquette workshops, talent shows and our club of 5  has now served over 180 DREAM Girl members ages 5-17.

I have ventured out to expand the programs offered by Let's DREAM Big, we have now contracted severla programs to include: Wee-Discover the World Early Literacy, Discover the World S.T.E.M. Enrichment, success workshops for tweens and teens to various community establishments.  To date our community partners have been S.K.I.E.S. Unlimited, Ft. Hood, Texas; the Cultural Activities Center of Temple; Texas, Bell County Juvenile Justice Complex, The Un-Included Non-Profit, Temple, TX and Unique CDC.

We have grown roots in our community through service projects ( winter coat drives, Hands to Heart crocheted hats and scarves for cancer patients, I care kits for children  at our local  emergency shelter, origami cranes for Japan Earthquake relief, DREAM Bags for Killeen Independent School district teachers and more).  D.R.E.A.M. Girls and Wee-Discover the World have also been featured on local television station KPLE "Attention Central Texas", PBS Focus, and “Everyday Moms”,  and made front page of the Community section of our local newspaper several times.

Overall, we aim to promote and enhance the life skills and personal strengths of the youth that utilize our program. We will provide a plethora of opportunities and outlets for learning, self-expression, growth, leadership, family and community connections.  Utilizing positive adult mentoring; positive peer-peer interaction and enhancing individual esteem, D.R.E.A.M. Big Youth Programming will inspire youth to recognizing their greatness.  It is with the recognition of each individuals innate and unlimited potential of greatness which will ultimately strengthen and enhance our society. We envision a society of entrepreneurs with a concrete understanding of goal setting, financial literacy, diversity awareness, community cohesiveness, as well as, an immense appreciation and yearning for knowledge.
