Fort Hood Soldier James Johnston Killed in Action in Afghanistan
As the wife of an EOD Tech myself, this heartbreaking situation hits close to home. The EOD community is small and close-knit. James Johnston was one of my husband’s EOD brothers, killed in action in Afghanistan this week, leaving his wife, Krista, who is expecting their firstborn baby in November.
Although we are now stationed in Kansas, my husband spent 6 years of his career at Fort Hood where SGT Johnston was stationed. I can only imagine the heartache and sorrow that Krista feels as she lost her beloved husband during a time in which most couples would be celebrating TOGETHER.
There is still about $2000 on their baby registry. Please help me fund the remainder of their registry, give Krista extra for diapers and meals, and start a college fund. This is no time for Krista to have to worry about anything, and I’d like to help make things as easy as possible for her and her family during this tragic time. Pregnancy during a deployment, alone, is hard enough; and now, the Johnston family has paid the ultimate sacrifice in the midst of expecting a new addition to their clan.
Thank you SGT Johnston, Krista, and the Johnston Family for your service to our great country. It is not unnoticed. The EOD family stands behind you and will be here to support you during this difficult time.
