Help me Build a Bat Release Cage

Donation protected

Help us free these babies to the wild safely and help more babies/injured bats in the future.....!!!!!

Story began during my visit to Sri Lanka last May (28th May 2017)......contact me through facebook (akemi wijayabahu) or email ([email redacted] or [email redacted] for more details)

My friends and I want to start a bat rescue and rehab center in Horagolla National Park, Sri Lanka. We currently don't have any rescue centers for bats in our country. The kind staff at Horagolla National park are taking care of two rescued baby fruit bats, Tutu (girl) and Battie (male). All of us are determined to make this rescue project a successful one, not just for baby Tutu and baby Battie but also for the benefit of many more fruit bats and also microbats that need our help.

We donated a small cage when they were 10/12 weeks old.  But they are growing faster and need a bigger and a taller aviary to practice flying before their release. They have to have strong and sustained flight before they can be released so that they can fly to feed and survive.

Having an aviary will help these two babies and also future bats. Although I'm in Gainesville, Florida, USA for my PhD I have been keeping contact with the park to check on the babies and my uncle in Sri Lanka will help me to get all the necessary material for building the aviary. I will also be visiting the park during the holidays.

Please help us build an aviary for these sweet little babies so that they can learn how to fly, and enjoy a long life in the wild where they can live for more than 20 years.
