My name is Lei-Lani Finch and my dream is to become a ballerina. All my life I've wanted to excel and thrive in everything I do. When I first started dancing I couldn't stop. It became a passion. I eventually want to travel around the world and perform in as many productions as possible. The stage is my best friend.
I've been accepted to Gelsey Kirkland's Summer Intensive and I'm overjoyed. Sadly it costs over 6,000 dollars to go, along with pointe shoe fees and leotard costs it will take a miracle for me to afford it. My mom is a single parent and she is supporting my older sister who is in college.
My Summer Schedule:
-Gelsey Kirkland Academy (Brooklyn, NY): June 22-July 10-Maryland Youth Ballet (Silver Spring, MD): July 13-July 24
-Southern NH Dance (Bedford, NH): July 27- August 7
-French Academie of Ballet (Manhattan, NY): August 8- August 28
Why so many schools?
-In order to be the best I have to train with the best. These schools are my starting point, with determination and practice I believe I will be able to improve my technique, especially with a variety of teachers and classes.
I don't want to give up my dream. I'll never know if I can reach my full potential if I don't try. Thanks!
