Welcome to BDP 5
This summer, August 7-17, Barbados Dance Project will host its 5th annual summer dance intensive. It is a huge accomplishment for BDP as we strive to continue to bring high caliber dance training to the island of Barbados, TUITION-FREE!

Founded by Barbadian-American professional dancer Jamal Callender, Barbados Dance Project aims to educate, collaborate, and engage with the Barbadian community through dance. Since 2014, BDP has made a major impact not only in our student's lives through dance, but in their everyday journey. Barbados Dance Project is the catalyst that inspires the community on the island, to unite together through movement.

Barbados Dance Project Summer Intensive offers dance training never seen in Barbados. BDP intensive consists of daily classes and rehearsals from 9:00am-6pm with a culminating dance showcase. We do all of this while bringing some of the worlds finest professional guest tutors from around the world to the feet of the youth. Giving them access!
The average cost of attending a summer dance intensive like BDP can start at $1,000 USD per student. At BDP, we feel each student should have the privilege and experience to attend a rigorous program tuition-free removing the financial burden students and the family may face. This means each student receives a full scholarship.

This is where YOU play a huge role. In order to allow each student to attend tuition-free with a full scholarship, BDP turns to you for your help and assistance. With your generous support, BDP will triumph by providing the necessary tools for each student to thrive and to be the next generation of great artists. Our past students have continued their studies at some of the world’s finest institutions including, Barbados Community College, University of the West Indies at Cave Hill, NYU Tisch, SUNY Purchase, Ryerson (Toronto), Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts(Jamaica), Arizona University(USA), Trinity Laban(UK), AMDA(New York), and Urdang Academy(UK).
With your support, you will help BDP in the following ways:
•Travel to Barbados for guest tutors
•Accommodation for guest tutors
•Honorarium for guest tutors
•Ground Transportation
•Studio and performance venue fees
•Apparel and costumes for students
•In-class materials for students

Barbados Dance Project thanks you for taking the time to visit our page, and reading our story. We hope this will motivate and excite you to help support in any way. As we say it takes a village, and at BDP we know without the support of many, we would not be able to do anything.
Thank you
