Heal Barbara's Cancer

I will never forget the day we found out my mom had cancer. There was a period of grief for all of us; grief for the security we had felt before we knew, and fear of my mother’s new reality. For my mother, there was a long period of heartache, anger and depression. Then there was acceptance and the resolve to fight with all of her body, mind and soul.
My mom, Barbara, was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer in March 2016 at the age of 61. This is Barbara just after completing radiation treatment last June.
Barbara suffered second and third-degree burns, as well as other health complications from the treatment. She was told by her surgeons that she would need to have an operation to remove the tumor and the surrounding tissue, then undergo chemotherapy.
The surgery would leave her with a colostomy for the rest of her life.
Fearing the inevitable outcome of the suggested operation and the ravishing effects chemo would have on her already fragile body, she decided to take an alternative path. She realized that if her immune system had been so assaulted by toxins it couldn’t keep her well, more toxins and cutting weren't going to help as much as harm.
So, when her burns from radiation had healed and her energy started to return, she began conducting exhaustive research on alternative treatments. She also consulted with three different holistic practitioners.
She needed to employ safer tactics and strengthen her immune system through lifestyle change and nutrition. Barbara refused chemo and surgery and dove headfirst into her research. What she found were many other stories that started very much like hers. She built a community of others who had healed their stage 3 and 4 cancers with holistic treatments, diet and nutrition therapy. These methods left the patients feeling healthier, younger, more rejuvenated. Rather than debilitating the body with chemo and invasive surgery, these treatments heal the entire body, starve the cancer and strengthen, rather than jeopardize, the immune system.
Everyone who knows and loves Barbara supports her decision to heal her body the best way she sees fit. Unfortunately that support is not extended by her health insurance company. Although my parents are fortunate to have health insurance, their annual deductible is 12,000. Already they have spent over $25,000. Barbara also needs electro-magnetic therapy, infrared light therapy, dental work to properly remove mercury fillings, and holistic root canal reconstruction. These treatments/procedures will cost upwards of $40,000.
After months of a very strict, plant based diet, supplements, and other therapies, Barbara is thriving. Her entire body glows with the benefits of her holistic treatment. Her blood levels (tumor markers) are back into the “normal” range. This is an indication that the tumor is in fact shrinking as a result of her holistic treatments; but my parents need financial help to maintain my mother’s treatments, to ensure that the cancer doesn’t spread and the rest of the tumor is eradicated.
The harsh awakening of the brevity of life has sparked in my mother a hunger to survive and thrive. Knowing how precious her time on earth is, she devotes all of herself to her family. She spends as much time as she can with her husband, her three children, and her two beautiful grandchildren.
To know Barbara is to love her. She is sweet, passionate and pure-hearted. Her beautiful spirit touches everyone she meets with love and kindness. She raised her children with tenderness and taught each one of us what it means to truly, deeply and unconditionally love and be loved. Not one of us can imagine our lives without her beautiful self.
Perhaps you've lost a loved one or believe that the body is an amazing natural gift that can heal given proper conditioning and nurturing. Please help us heal our Barbara so that she may experience all the love and joy that this life has yet to offer her; so that she can grow old with the love of her life; so that she can be there someday to watch me and my little sister walk down the aisle on our wedding days; so that she can hold my babies and look into their eyes with as much adoration and love that she does my niece and nephew.
Any dollar amount is immensely appreciated. If you can’t donate, please share this post on Facebook, Twitter or email. Thank you!
