Greetings!
Who: We are the Bay Area Radio Fellowship - the S.F. Bay Area's third pioneering UHF amateur radio repeater system. (BARF) Our mission/strategy/focus is to maintain open access to critical and innovative amateur radio services. especially traversing the mountain range between Silicon Valley and the Santa Cruz/Monterey Bay area.
Where: We maintain six strategically located sites from Mt Vaca to the Santa Cruz mountains including rare coverage in the heart of San Francisco. Coverage is from the Sacramento Valley, North Bay, Monterey to King City.
What: One of amateur radio's little known but biggest challenges is the cost of repeater sites. We all face non-negotiable costs of communications site rent - tower and rack space - as well as ever increasing power costs.
Our need is to meet the annual recurring site rent costs. Reliable, sheltered, professional facilities and backup power are what keep good systems on the air.
Thank you VERY much for your consideration - be it $1, $5, $10 or $100...
Unfortunately we are not yet a 501c3 non-profit. That costs money too - with enough additional funding we will start that process ASAP.
