Backpacks for those in need!

Hello, my name is Ashley Castro, I am owner and founder of Blossoming Hope Miami. Our purpose is to help our community in ANY way possible. Whether it is raising money for a project, helping those who are in need or raising awareness on an important issue.

I have recently moved to the state of Colorado, and I have come across an issue that continues to rise. There has been a rapid rise of how many people/families have become homeless. In 2013 there were only 1,700 accounted for. As of August 21, 2014 it has increased by almost 76% to more than 3,000.  There are shelters for them, to feed and let them rest but with the sudden increase those shelters are overflowing and there is only so much they can provide for them.

So I have set out to help. I want to handout 250 baskets to homeless folks. It will consist of
Chapstick
Tissues
Socks
Anti-Bacterial Wipes
Toothbrush
Toothpaste
Comb
Lotion
Water Bottle
Snack
Cranberry Juice (for the kidneys)
AZO pills (for UTI)
Feminine Care
Umbrella
Deodorant
Head to toe Wash
Blanket
First aid kits
and phone numbers they can call for work, for government help, and facilities that will take them in.

I would like for all this to be done by the end of september. With the help of my hospital I have already started collecting some of the items. Now, I am reaching out to everyone I know and their friends and families. If you can't donate money and prefer getting the items, that is just as good.

The money will go to everything that is listed, food and baskets.
